Foreign Affairs Committee

The Foreign Affairs Committee (Commissione Rapporti Internazionali – CRINT) was established by a decision of the Milan Bar Association’s board on December 5, 1983. The speaker was Enrico Radice, assisted by Massimo Della Campa, Gigi Pagani and Ignazio Lampiasi.

The birth of the International Commission was the fruit of the commitment and enthusiasm of a small party of lawyers who had long developed a network of relations and professional experiences in the European and the international context.

At its first meeting, the Commission was composed by the Bar’s counsellors Massimo Della Campa, Ignazio Lampiasi, Gigi Pagani ed Enrico Radice, with the attorneys Roberto Baldi, Giovanni De Berti, Mauro Rubino Sammartano, Gaetano Sardo and Mario Scamoni.

On January 11, 1984, at the Judicial Year Inauguration ceremony, the first foreign guests entered the Court’s Lecture Hall accompanied by the members of the Bar Association’s board. The first guests were Franz Reichenbach from Zurich, Head of the IBA; Ludwig A.E. Briet from Rotterdam, Head of UIA; Giovanni De Berti, in his capacity as Head of A.I.J.A.; J. Nigel W. Dodds from London, Head of Young Solicitors Group of the Law Society of England and Wales; Antonio Placencia, Head of the Barcellona Bar Association and Jean Luois Delvolvé, representing the Paris Bar Association.

The tradition has continued ever since.
